About Lowlander

Lowlander Beer originated in the Netherlands, founded by twins Xander and Danny Smeets in 2013. The Smeets brothers were inspired to create a range of distinctive craft beers that were lower in alcohol and calories.

The name "Lowlander" refers to the flat, low-lying geography of the Netherlands. The country's landscape is dominated by rolling fields, canals, and floodplains below sea level. The Lowlands region has a rich history of beer brewing dating back to medieval times.

Lowlander aims to uphold these historic Dutch brewing traditions while putting a modern twist on classic beer styles. Their beers embrace innovation and experimentation with unique ingredients and processes, whilst staying true to the core ethos of balance and drinkability.

The brewery uses uplifting citrus and tea botanicals to impart flavour and aroma whilst keeping alcohol levels around 0.3% - 3.5%. Their offerings include White Ale brewed with chamomile, IPA infused with Earl Grey tea, and Ginger Beer with a spike of ginger.

Lowlander has grown rapidly to distribute across 25 countries. But the brand maintains a focus on sustainability, using organic ingredients, eco-friendly brewing methods, and redistributable packaging.

At its heart, Lowlander strives to create a new generation of craft beers that open up beer to more people and occasions. Their motto says it all: "Beer, reinvented."
