Tasting notes

Nogne Ø Himla Humla Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Pours a hazy amber colour, reminiscent of a sunset glow, topped with a sturdy, off-white head that leaves intricate lacing as it slowly recedes.

Aroma: The aroma is a vibrant explosion of tropical fruits, with dominant notes of mango, pineapple, and a hint of citrus zest. These juicy fragrances are complemented by a subtle piney undertone, creating a complex and inviting bouquet.

Taste: The taste mirrors the aroma with an initial burst of tropical fruit sweetness, quickly balanced by a moderate hop bitterness. Flavours of ripe mango, juicy pineapple, and a touch of grapefruit lead the way, followed by a slight herbal and piney hop character that adds depth and dimension to the palate.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a smooth texture, Nogne Ø Himla Humla has a moderate carbonation level that accentuates its hop profile and enhances its drinkability, making it both refreshing and satisfying.

Finish: Concludes with a balanced and slightly dry finish, leaving a lingering taste of tropical hop flavours and a clean bitterness that invites another sip.

Nogne Ø Himla Humla is a masterful interpretation of the IPA style, reimagined in a non-alcoholic format. It's a testament to the brewery's commitment to quality and innovation, offering beer enthusiasts a hop-forward experience that's both flavourful and accessible. Enjoy it on its own to savour its complex hop character or pair it with spicy dishes, grilled meats, or bold cheeses to complement its robust flavours.

Serving Suggestions

Nogne Ø Himla Humla Serving Suggestions:

  1. Chill your low-alcohol IPA to a refreshing 7-10°C, striking the perfect balance between crispness and a burst of enticing hoppy flavours.
  2. Opt for a tulip-shaped glass or even an IPA glass designed to capture the beer's bold aroma and showcase its beautiful amber hue.
  3. Master the art of pouring by tipping your glass at a 45-degree angle, then straightening it up to achieve a creamy, picture-perfect head. Raise your glass and toast to your impeccable taste!
  4. Take your low-alcohol IPA to the next level by adding a cheeky citrus twist, such as a slice of grapefruit or orange, to enhance those bright, fruity notes.
  5. Pair your IPA with flavourful, hearty dishes like tangy BBQ, spicy curries, or robust, aged cheeses for a truly tantalising taste sensation that will leave your taste buds dancing with delight.

About Nogne

Nøgne Ø logo

Nøgne Ø, also known as "The Naked Island" Brewery, is a renowned craft brewery founded in 2002 in Grimstad, Norway, by Kjetil Jikiun and Gunnar Wiig. The name is inspired by the barren, rocky islets that dot the Norwegian coast, which local poet Ivar Aasen described as "naked islands" in his work.

Kjetil, an airline pilot with a passion for homebrewing, and Gunnar, an economist with a love for good beer, decided to join forces and create a brewery that would bring high-quality, flavourful, and innovative craft beers to the Norwegian market. They started with a simple yet bold mission: to create beers that people had never tasted before, influenced by international brewing traditions and techniques.

Over the years, Nøgne Ø has grown to become one of the leading craft breweries in Scandinavia, consistently pushing the boundaries and expanding their repertoire. They produce a wide range of beer styles, from classic ales and stouts to experimental sours and barrel-aged brews, always focusing on using the finest ingredients and maintaining a commitment to quality and innovation.

Nøgne Ø's dedication to the craft has earned them numerous awards and a loyal following of beer enthusiasts across the globe. Today, the brewery is a symbol of the thriving Scandinavian craft beer scene, and their beers can be found in many countries, bringing a taste of Norway's rugged beauty and unique brewing culture to the world.
