Discover MocktailsWhat inspired you to create Mocktails Uniquely Crafted, and how did your journey begin?
"Our story began with their founders and their spouses, a mix of drinkers and non-drinkers, being in pursuit of a cocktail option that could be enjoyed equally by all, together. With limited non-alcoholic drinks options in the marketplace at the time, the founders decided to develop their own range of alcohol-free, mixology inspired cocktails."
How do you approach crafting flavour in your drinks, and what makes your product unique?
"We've worked closely with a leading bartender called Ezra Star, we knew what flavours we wanted to create and enlisted the expert help of some-one within the mixology flair and know-how to take our product to the next level. Our range differs from many other alcohol-free ready-to-drink brands as we use nitrogen in our cans. Each can contains a widget which releases nitrogen when you open the can. It creates a wonderful sound as well allowing for a light foam head, particularly on our Espresso 0% Martini and Sansgria."
What are the biggest challenges you face in producing a high-quality low/no alcohol product?
"Producing a 'better for you' product does have a higher cost implications. We use 100% naturally sourced ingredients and that is expensive to do but we do not want to compromise on flavour and therefore will always source the best ingredients. Large alcohol brands have huge marketing budgets and built-in distribution and smaller independents in the low and no space rarely have that."
How do you envision the future of low and no? Are there any trends you're excited about?
"The future for the category is going to be ginormous. You'll see whole supermarket aisles (not small sections as you see now) dedicated to Low and No, they'll be more brands entering the space as consumers are going to demand it."
What is one thing you wish more people knew about your product or the low/no alcohol industry in general?
"Why non-alcoholic products cost more than some alcoholic. Quite a lot of consumers ask why if it's missing alcohol why do alcohol-free drinks cost more. Adding alcohol to a drink is actually very cheap to do but creating an alcohol-free drink which has an amazing flavour profile (as it's missing alcohol) is costly to do."
