Klokk & Co FRIPA Radler Trippel Sitrus is a bright alcohol free IPA radler from Norway, made with 50% alcohol free IPA and 50% fruit lemonade. It brings together lemon, lime and orange for a properly zesty citrus hit, with enough beer character to keep it crisp, balanced and refreshing.
This is lighter and juicier than a straight IPA, but still has a gentle malt base, soft hop character and a little bitterness from the beer side. It is a great fridge beer for sunny afternoons, BBQs, seafood, pizza nights, garden drinks and easy alcohol free refreshment.
Tasting Notes
Pours: Hazy pale golden with a soft white head and a bright citrus glow.
Aroma: Lemon zest, lime peel, orange citrus, light malt and gentle hop notes.
Palate: Fresh lemon and lime come through first, followed by softer orange sweetness, mild malt and a light IPA bitterness. The fruit lemonade gives it a juicy, thirst quenching feel, while the IPA base stops it becoming too sweet.
Finish: Crisp, citrusy and refreshing, with a clean lemon and lime finish.
Food Pairings
Pair with grilled prawns, seafood skewers, lemon dressed fish or fish tacos with lime, salsa and coriander. The citrus notes in the radler work beautifully with seafood, especially where there is salt, spice, herbs or fresh lime involved.
It also suits Margherita pizza, pepperoni pizza, roasted vegetable flatbread, BBQ chicken skewers, grilled halloumi, smoky cauliflower bites or nachos with jalapeños and sour cream. The IPA base brings enough bite for savoury food, while the lemonade side keeps everything fresh.
