Tasting notes

Low tide Check This Stout Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Pours a deep, velvety black hue, crowned with a thick, creamy tan head that clings to the side of the glass, suggesting its rich and creamy nature.

Aroma: The nose is immediately greeted with prominent notes of dark roasted malt, leading into the unmistakable sweetness of honeycomb. There's an underlying hint of dark chocolate intertwined with subtle nuances of caramel and toffee.

Palate: On the first sip, one is met with a wave of deep chocolate richness, resembling a premium dark chocolate bar. This is swiftly followed by the delightful crunch-like sensation of honeycomb, adding a unique sweetness to the palate. The malt's roasted character underpins the flavour profile, bringing depth and complexity.

Mouthfeel: Full-bodied and luxuriously smooth. Each sip coats the mouth with its creamy texture, making for a truly indulgent experience.

Finish: Leaves behind a lasting impression of chocolate and honeycomb sweetness, with a hint of roasted bitterness that balances it all out, ensuring it's not overly sweet and keeps you coming back for more.

Food Pairings

Lowtide Check This Stout Food Pairings:

1. Desserts: This stout, with its chocolate and honeycomb profile, pairs delightfully with rich desserts. Think dark chocolate mousse, tiramisu, or even a chocolate and caramel tart. Its richness can also counterbalance the sweetness of a classic crème brûlée.

2. Cheeses: Blue cheeses like Roquefort or Gorgonzola provide a sharp contrast to the stout's sweetness, while creamier brie or camembert cheeses can complement its velvety texture.

3. Meats: Roasted or grilled meats, especially those with a slightly sweet marinade or glaze, can harmonize with the beer's profile. BBQ pork ribs, duck with a honey glaze, or even a rich beef stew can be great options.

4. Seafood: It might sound surprising, but oysters or mussels can pair wonderfully with stouts, creating a balance of sweet and salty flavours.

5. Vegetarian Dishes: Portobello mushrooms grilled with a touch of balsamic vinegar or a hearty lentil stew can complement the beer's rich and roasted notes. Moreover, vegan-friendly dishes such as dark chocolate vegan brownies or a vegetable tagine with prunes can highlight its sweetness.

Serving Suggestions

Serving Suggestion for Lowtide Check This Stout:

To truly appreciate the deep richness and complexity of Lowtide's Check This Stout, serve it in a stout or tulip glass. Before pouring, allow the can to chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. Once chilled, aim to pour it at a temperature of around 8-12°C. This optimal temperature will unlock the full array of chocolate and honeycomb aromas, ensuring every sip is an indulgent experience. Given its full-bodied nature, it's best to avoid over-chilling, which can mute its nuanced flavours. Remember, it's not just about tasting the stout but also immersing yourself in its aromatic journey, so take a moment to inhale its bouquet before diving in.

About Lowtide

About Lowtide Brewing Co.

Once upon a time, in the balmy summer of 2019, two intrepid beer enthusiasts named Rob and Dave embarked on an unforgettable journey. They sought the Holy Grail of alcohol-free craft beers, a mythical brew that would tantalise the taste buds of even the most discerning drinkers.

As they traversed the globe, they discovered a world of fascinating AF beers, but they couldn't find a single shop that brought together all these hidden treasures. Inspired, they decided to create their own Aladdin's cave of alcohol-free delights, launching the Crafty AF website.

However, their unquenchable thirst for the ultimate AF beer remained unfulfilled. They realised that the world deserved more; more flavours, more styles, and a brewery that truly represented the spirit of craft brewing in the alcohol-free realm. Thus, Lowtide Brewing Co. was born.

With an infectious blend of artistic flair, rebellious spirit, and delectable alcohol-free brews, Lowtide Brewing Co. has become a beacon of true craft beer in the world of alcohol-free beverages. Their aim is simple: create unparalleled beers with one-of-a-kind artwork and unrivalled flavour.

Rob and Dave continue their quest to this day, ensuring that the legacy of Lowtide Brewing Co. remains as vibrant and unforgettable as the very first sip.
