About Schneider
In the heart of Bavaria, the Schneider Weisse story begins in 1872 when Georg I Schneider, a master brewer, acquired the Weisses Brauhaus in Munich. Being passionate about wheat beer, Georg Schneider believed in the traditional Bavarian art of brewing and was determined to preserve the unique flavours of Bavarian wheat beer.
At a time when lagers and pilsners were dominating the German beer scene, Schneider Weisse continued to focus on top-fermented wheat beers, setting them apart from the mainstream. Their dedication to quality and adherence to the ancient Bavarian brewing traditions led to the creation of exceptional wheat beers, which soon became renowned across Germany and beyond.
Now, six generations later, the Schneider family continues to own and operate the brewery, remaining true to the original brewing philosophy. The company has expanded over the years, with the brewery relocating to Kelheim, where it stands today. Schneider Weisse has also added a range of innovative and diverse wheat beers to their portfolio, all the while maintaining their commitment to the highest standards of quality and the traditional Bavarian brewing techniques.
As a pioneer in the wheat beer industry, Schneider Weisse has consistently demonstrated that tradition and innovation can coexist harmoniously, resulting in exceptional beers enjoyed by generations of discerning beer lovers.
