De Bortoli’s “Cautious One” range reflects a modern take on mindful drinking—offering quality and accessibility without the compromise. This Shiraz is vegan-friendly and low in calories, making it a great choice for those looking to cut back or go alcohol-free without losing the pleasure of a well-made red. It’s full-flavoured, fuss-free, and lives up to its promise: a very good Shiraz for the very cautious drinker.

How To Enjoy

Best served slightly below room temperature—around 14–16°C—to bring out its plush fruit and soft spice. Pour it into a red wine glass and let it breathe for a minute or two before enjoying. It’s perfect for quiet evenings, easy dinners, or sharing a bottle without the effects of alcohol.  This Shiraz is a natural partner for hearty, flavourful dishes. Think barbecued meats, spaghetti bolognese, vegan sausages, or arich vegetable tagine. It’s also brilliant with mature cheddar, mushroom risotto, or your Friday night takeaway curry. A versatile match for bold flavours, without overpowering the food.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in the glass with flashes of purple, this Shiraz delivers classic aromas of plum, blackberry and vanilla, alongside a gentle spice that hints at oak ageing. The palate is juicy and fruit-forward, brimming with dark berries, black cherry and a touch of mocha, finishing soft, smooth, and satisfyingly round. With gentle acidity and silky tannins, it’s a crowd-pleaser from the first sip to the last.

    Birthday present

Bought as a birthday present for my husband, who unfortunately can’t drink alcohol anymore, so very pleased to have found this website. Has thoroughly enjoyed one of the bottles so far.

The Only Decent Non Alcoholic Wine

The title says it all. It’s the only non-alcoholic wine that tastes good enough to drink with my meal. Thank you.

    A good little number

Have had this wine before its a good all rounder for a non alcoholic red wine only disappointment is the price as I was able to get this from another supplier for £2.50 less, unfortunately they had sold out.

A good substitute for the real thing

This is an enjoyable substitute for the real thing and whilst, in my opinion, no wine with the alcohol removed can exactly replicate the same flavours, this is a decent effort.
