Premium kombucha fermented as a sparkling wine from exquisite loose leaf teas. As delicate as a Champagne, with notes of rhubarb and white peach. Brewed from a first flush Darjeeling, the Queen of Teas.
The tea is richly fragrant and creates a fermented drink that is fresh and floral. Nothing is added, but the tea alone develops notes of rhubarb, white peach and a touch of blackcurrant. The fruit and spice flavours round out the acids to make it soft and delicate. Ideal as a celebration drink in place of a champagne, served in a Champagne flute.
A wonderful refreshing all-day drink, this delicate variety is ideal as a celebration drink. We’re talking more than English Breakfast here…

What is kombucha tea?

Kombucha explained
Have you ever heard of kombucha tea? It's not your ordinary cup of tea – it's a bubbly, tangy, and slightly sour beverage that's been around for centuries. Kombucha starts as a simple mixture of tea, sugar, and water. But what makes it truly unique is its natural fermentation process, which transforms it into a delicious and healthy drink.
Kombucha is made by fermenting tea with a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast, also known as a SCOBY. This living organism transforms sweet tea into a complex, flavorful drink with beneficial organic compounds. It's a bit like magic – or science, depending on how you look! If you're familiar with making cider, you can think of kombucha as sweet fermented tea like cider is fermented apple juice. The two processes are similar, resulting in a drink bursting with flavour and goodness. So if you're looking for a drink that's a little bit different – and much healthier – than your usual cuppa, try kombucha!

Understanding Gluten Free

Gluten, a protein complex predominantly found in grains such as wheat, barley, rye, and oats, is a common constituent in various beverages, including beer and some wines. However, gluten-free drinks steer clear of these ingredients. For a drink to earn the 'gluten-free' label, it must contain less than 20 parts per million of gluten, which is practically a smidgen!
On a more serious note, the legal definition of 'gluten-free' in the UK, as outlined by the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 41/2009, stipulates that foodstuffs must contain no more than 20 mg/kg (ppm) of gluten to qualify for the label. This regulation ensures that products marketed as 'gluten-free' are safe for those with coeliac disease and gluten intolerance to consume.

Vegan Friendly

This drink contains no animal products or by-products whatsoever. Furthermore, the bottle, label, and adhesive used are completely free from any animal-derived ingredients.

About Real

REAL Kombucha began in early 2016 when founder, David Begg, had all but given up drinking. A big lover of food, David found he missed the joy of pairing great wine with great food, and increasingly began to notice that people choosing not to drink were not catered for in any serious, sophisticated manner. When a friend introduced him to an earthy, rich, oolong kombucha, he realised there might be a real alternative.
His first brew, made with a silver needle tea that he happened to have bought on a family holiday to India, resulted in a kombucha that produced incredible floral, aromatic flavours. Putting together a small team that included nutrition innovator, Adrian Hodgson, and tea expert, Will Battle, the nascent company experimented with 150 different teas until he came up with the finest in fermentation: REAL Kombucha.
