Understanding Gluten Free

Gluten, a protein complex predominantly found in grains such as wheat, barley, rye, and oats, is a common constituent in various beverages, including beer and some wines. However, gluten-free drinks steer clear of these ingredients. For a drink to earn the 'gluten-free' label, it must contain less than 20 parts per million of gluten, which is practically a smidgen!
On a more serious note, the legal definition of 'gluten-free' in the UK, as outlined by the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 41/2009, stipulates that foodstuffs must contain no more than 20 mg/kg (ppm) of gluten to qualify for the label. This regulation ensures that products marketed as 'gluten-free' are safe for those with coeliac disease and gluten intolerance to consume.

Vegan Friendly

This drink contains no animal products or by-products whatsoever.

Food Pairings

What food can be paired with Torres Natureo Muscat?

Torres Natureo Muscat's light, crisp, and fruity profile makes it a versatile wine for food pairing. Here are some suggestions that would complement the wine:

  • Seafood: Lightly grilled or poached white fish, shrimp, scallops, or other shellfish would pair well with the wine's refreshing acidity and fruity flavours.
  • Salads: Fresh green salads with a citrus-based dressing or salads featuring fruits like apples, pears, and peaches would make for an entertaining match.
  • Light dishes: The wine's crisp and fruity nature makes it a perfect companion for grilled chicken, pasta with light cream or oil-based sauces, and vegetarian dishes with mild flavours.
  • Cheese: Soft, mild cheeses like Brie, Camembert, or goat cheese would complement the wine's fruity and floral notes.
  • Fruits and desserts: As a slightly sweet and fruity wine, Torres Natureo Muscat pairs well with fresh fruit salads, fruit-based desserts, or light pastries.
  • Remember that these are only suggestions, and personal preferences may vary. The key is experimenting with different food pairings and finding what works best for you and your guests.

Serving Suggestions

What is the best way to serve Torres Natureo Muscat Non-Alcoholic White Wine?

  • Chill the wine: Refrigerate the wine for a couple of hours before serving, aiming for a serving temperature of about 8-10°C. This temperature range is ideal for highlighting the wine's fruity flavours and aromas.
  • Select the proper glassware: Use a white wine glass with a smaller bowl, which will help to concentrate the wine's aromas and enhance your tasting experience.
  • Pour the wine: Hold the glass by the stem to avoid warming the wine with your hand. Pour the wine into the glass, filling it to about one-third to half its capacity. This allows for better swirling and oxygenation, which helps to release the wine's aromas.
  • Swirl the wine: Gently swirl the wine in the glass to aerate it and release the full range of aromas. This step is essential for a de-alcoholised wine like Torres Natureo Muscat, as it helps to enhance the wine's flavours and character.
